Obedience: A willingness on my part to do what is right in Gods eyes.
Its 2:47 in the morning and I have been woken to the Holy Spirits’ prompting to get up and write something. Do I lay in bed and wonder is this really from God or do I get up and write…..so here I am. I want to be obedient but there are a lot of reasons why I struggle with knowing if I am truly hearing from God or thinking……
Maybe it’s just my own thoughts.
Maybe I simply just don’t want to do that thing.
Maybe it’s absurd that God is asking me to do that.
Maybe I’m not particularly sure what scripture says about that issue.
The world view takes precedence.
I think I have a better plan.
I am tuning God out.
Once you submit to wanting to recognize the promptings of Gods Spirit then you become accountable to obeying Him. That is the divine responsibility that accompanies the divine privilege we have.
We need the help of the Holy Spirit to understand the truths that God has revealed to us in His word.
1 Corinthians 2:9-12 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” -the things God has prepared for those who love him- these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
